We have all probably heard of bed bugs and that they are an incredibly common species that can be found in many different homes regardless of the climate or the location of the home itself. That being said, what they actually are and how dangerous they are is something that is less well known and many people freak out when they discover that they actually have these bugs living and breeding in their bed and there take the utmost precautions in getting rid of them.

Basically, bed bug bites are not harmful to us humans. The worst that you will likely get is a red line appearing more than a week after the bite itself and this can sometimes be slightly itchy but certainly nothing that is particularly uncomfortable or painful. That being said, in rare cases you can find that some people take a reaction to the bite and can suffer some other complications however, by and large, these bites are not harmful to us and they certainly do not carry any diseases or infections the same way as the likes of mosquito’s do.

Even with all this in mind it is a good idea to get rid of them as quickly as you can as the can quickly take over your bed and your mattress. A spray or a powder will do the job most effectively although you can steam the creatures away with some specially designed products; indeed, just washing the sheets etc… will not do much as they tend to stay on the mattress itself and it is really this area that should be concentrated on. That being said, they do not take long to get rid of and it is recommended that you do in as quick a time as possible before they breed and multiply.
